Country Buffets

Its been a long time since I wrote in this blog. I have a pet peeve that I just had to get off my mind.

On a Saturday night my wifes entire family went out to eat at COUNTRY BUFFETS. This was at approx. 5:oo pm as we were between viewing times of my wifes mothers wake. There were 24 of us. We waited over 1 hour to get to the cash register. We paid for 24 meals and asked if we could be seated near each other. As we waited for space to become available, a tour bus carrying 44 senior citizens pulled up. These 44 seniors walked into the restaurant and were promptly seated. Be aware that this place does not take reservations.

When I questioned the manager of why they would take precedence over our group of 24, he became very beligerent. He told my wife-your party will be seated where I see fit. She asked him about sitting in 1 general area. He replied,"you will sit where I seat you!" and if you don't ike it then leave. My wife asked him for a refund for 24 dinners. He stated that he would issue refunds when he got around to it. He then said that we would have to move out of the way, as we were blocking his other patrons from entering. How do 24 people move to the side when they have room between the cash register and and the wall.(wouldn't want anyone to sneak in) We refused to move until he issued us a refund.

I wrote a letter to the owners of COUNTRY BUFFET about this incident. They replied that they would take the Managers side of the story. They said that busses do not get preferential seating and must wait in line to be seated. They stated that they do not take reservations. They stated that the manager was seating us together and we refused. They stated that they were not afraid of me using the internet to tell my story as I couldn't possibly get enough reponse to jeopardize there business.

I am asking that anyone who reads this BOYCOTT Country Buffets in your area. Make a statement that the internet is a powerful tool. I have already alerted my 26,000 union brothers and sisters, and posted to my web site. Thank you!!
